PLANT BASED ENERGY BALLS

Well friends, this was one of those spontaneous recipe building kind of mornings! I love love LOVE my time in the kitchen. Sometimes these recipes start with a craving and I literally just roll with it from there. I think of the flavours and nutrients my body is asking for and I find a way to give it to myself!

This time around I was in search of something sweet to have with my morning coffee (with a kick, duh!) Have you tried it yet? My mama bear is hooked! I recently stocked up on my favourite raw plant powders and seeds, and so I opened my cupboard and started grabbing! Here is what I came up with:

Ingredient List

- 1 Cup Natural Peanut Butter

- 1/2 Cup Real Maple Syrup

- 2 Cups Oats

- 1/2 Cup Tiger Nut Flour

- 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil

- 1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut

- 1 Tsp Cinnamon

- 1 Tsp Spirulina

- 1 Tsp Maca Powder

- 2 Tbsp Cacao Nibs

- 2 Tbsp Raw Dark Chocolate Chips

* Mix Dry FIRST, then add in liquids (don't forget to melt the coconut oil)

* Let the goodness chill in the freezer for 10 min. (or keep them in there or the fridge and grab when you want one!)

BENEFITS OF INGREDIENTS:

Plant based proteins in raw form (full nutritional value, not additives), energy providers, mood boosters, healthy fats (good for sustainable energy)

SPIRULINA - the main power house in these protein balls. This fresh water blue algae is high in protein, rich in antioxidants, full of B vitamins, C, D, A, and Vitamin E (great for skin!)

Sometimes I am inspired by what I am craving, sometimes its a new product I want to play around with, sometimes it's a feeling that I am lacking something and wanting more of _____. A feeling you say? Why yes, because food is MEDICINE and makes you FEEL all sorts of ways. I love giving my body what it deserves and enjoying the creative process at the same time.

Thank you for sharing an interest and potentially giving these a go! Let me know if you do. Tag me on instagram (@mikmill) if you choose to share this recipe/your creation as well!
